Domestic Mail Address Label Layout
Using the following tips on how to lay out the address label will ensure that batches containing more than 5,000 items of sorted mail willl reach their destination faster and more reliably.
- The DHL Global Mail Port Betaald logo (positie 1) (postage paid) should be positioned in the top right corner. It must be clear that the mail is delivered by DHL Global Mail. There must be no connection with TNT Post, so the words ‘TPG’ or ‘TNT Post port betaald’, the TPG or TNT Post logo, or any combination thereof, must not appear on the envelope, nor should they be legible in any form.
- The return address should appear in the top left corner on the front side or top center on the reverse side of the envelope (position 2a or 2b). Whenever the sender’s address differs from the return address, each should be clearly and distinctly marked. A TNT Post prepaid reply number may not be used as a return address. If no (domestic) return address appears on the envelope, a return item deposited in a red or orange mailbox will not be returned to you, although you will be charged.
- The addressee’s address should appear in the center of the envelope (position 3).If you do not know the addressee’s name, print the text: ‘Aan de bewoner(s) van’.
- You may print your own company frank or stamp on the envelope in position 4. However, it must not contain a monetary value, the word ‘Nederland’ or a picture of The Queen. In addition, the frank or stamp must not resemble those of TNT Post so as not to give the impression that the item has been delivered by TNT Post.
- The DHL Global Mail sort code appears below the addressee’s address in the center of the envelope (position 5). A sample sort code is shown below:

The item is part of a multicolored bundle. *001/0001**: this item is the last item of the first transport unit. It is the last item in the bundle and the last for this depot.
